About Lola Moves: Dance, Travel, Surf & Yoga Blog

Hi, my name is Lola Lenka Lukáčová. When I started writing this intro, I went straight for talking about my job. For a long time I thought that what I do is who I am, my identity. But no. Today I know that who I am is so much more. It was shaped since birth, by family relationships, hobbies, and dreams, the ones I’m finally living out now 🙂

Dance

Dance is my natural movement. I’ve been dancing since I was tiny, pretty much as long as I’ve been walking. I’ve tried a ton of dance styles, from ballroom to streetdance, even acrobatic rock’n’roll and a few majorette trainings. Until I landed on samba. In 2025 I fulfilled a childhood dream and danced in the Rio de Janeiro Carnival parade. Wow, it still feels unreal. I’m a member of the dance group Ladies Carnaval, led by Veronika Lálová, and yes, you can actually book us for your company party :D. That’s not a sponsored plug, that’s just another dream come true 🙂 “You can’t make a living from dancing” turned out to be true for my parents’ generation, and I’m grateful for the education that pays my bills. But performing on stage and passing that joy and energy from dance onto people is when I feel most alive.

Travel

I stopped counting the countries I’ve visited. But I’ve made my way through Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and almost all of Europe.

My travel style has changed too. It’s no longer about “seeing as much as possible”, I couldn’t remember the names of temples, streets, or castles anyway. The goal now is having the best experiences possible.

My biggest travel dream is Machu Picchu. I guess the timing just hasn’t been right yet, but I’ll wait for it 🙂

Oh, and I live in Prague.

Surfing

I first stood up on a surfboard in Bali in 2015, and it was love at first wave. That freedom, that feeling of merging with nature, which basically calls all the shots… but also the hard work, the focus, and the will to want that wave more than the other 20 surfers in the lineup. Btw, surf coaches have given me the best advice I’ve ever gotten, and not just for surfing, for life too.

During my single era, I started going on organized surf trips and surf & yoga camps solo. Best decision ever. I met so many amazing people, and a few kindred spirits I still visit to this day, squeezing in a local surf session or a dance / yoga lesson together.

Yoga

Namasté since around 2012. For me, yoga isn’t just about exercise or stretching. It helps my head the most. I clear my thoughts, find focus, and then take that off the mat and into everyday life. It’s great! My next dream and goal is to complete a yoga instructor course and build my own offline, real life community 🙂

And now, finally, the work credits.

I studied journalism. I worked in pretty much every kind of media there is: as an editor at Rádio_FM, a few live broadcasts as a reporter on Teleráno at TV Markíza. I wrote for the online version of sme.sk, and most importantly, for my first original travel blog, which taught me so much and basically led me into a career in digital marketing.

I’ve been in marketing since 2016. I often say I’m a digital dinosaur, I remember the days of Google Adwords and presentations where we had to explain to clients what Instagram even was. I basically clicked my way through all of it from scratch, as they say. I worked at creative agencies like Istropolitana Ogilvy and the Czech Zaraguza. I ran social media at Markíza, where I even got to travel with reality shows like Love Island and Survivor, and fulfill a dream by dancing on Let’s Dance. Although in my head I imagined it differently, that I’d be famous enough to be invited on as a celebrity dancer. But what hasn’t happened yet still can, right 🙂 I led local marketing at GymBeam for Czechia and Slovakia, and later coordinated communication across 16 markets in Europe. My clients were various brands. And this, finally, is my own brand, the one I actually live 🙂

Lola Moves is my space, full of dance, travel, and experiences from surf & yoga trips. And there’s more to come 🙂 Join the flow!
